The Tiger Hill sunrise drive (around 4:00 AM) is offered as an optional activity, subject to weather; if it isn't done, an alternative sightseeing spot is arranged in its place. On your departure day you can also choose the optional return route via Mirik, a quiet town known for Samendu Lake, orange orchards, cardamom plantations and scenic tea estates.

March to June brings pleasant weather, blooming gardens and clear views of Kanchenjunga, making it ideal for the Tiger Hill sunrise. October to December offers crisp, clear skies excellent for mountain views. Carry heavy woollens in winter and light woollens in summer, plus a rainproof jacket during the monsoon as hill roads can be affected by weather.
